Yesterday our latest Selene Classic Explorer 4941 started her long voyage to its final destination across the ocean. She was loaded on a flatbed truck and driven to the port through the streets in the middle of the night. It’s always impressive to see such a big vessel in the traffic. We are always a bit sad when a new boat leaves the shipyard, but all our teams were proud! Congratulations to all the Selene shipwrights…<\/p>\n

A powerful and comfortable yacht<\/h4>\n

The Selene 49 Classic Explorer is a beautiful and powerful yacht, large enough to accommodate a live aboard family with children planning a circumnavigation or for a retired couple ready for the Great Loop.\u00a0The Selene 49 Classic Explorer<\/a> is the perfect versatile family vessel with two or three cabins and two heads. She has a very traditional \u00ab salty \u00bb look from the outside. Another salient feature is a wide flybridge giving space for entertaining friends and family with style in the open air, with ample room on the aft deck for a dinghy and hydraulic crane. The living space is large and spacious for the long cruising days. The salon is luxuriously finished in teak. The master stateroom has a queen-size island berth with teak and holly steps on both sides, plus two large cedar-lined hanging lockers.<\/p>\n

The large Cummins QSL 9.0 330 horsepower engine is standard with a cruising speed of 8.5 knots for a range of 2,000 nautical miles. As the flagship of the smaller Selene Yachts, the Selene 49 boasts a bullet-proof construction and a level of luxury normally only found on its larger sisters in the range, but all in an affordable package that\u2019s easy to handle.
