Our Zhuhai factory has installed the superstructure of\u00a0 Selene 4242 Voyager Sedan<\/a> last week. Just before the Chinese New Year. It fits perfectly. Our technicians will bolt it and glass it next week. They have already installed the two aluminum tanks, the FRP water and black water tanks between the bilge grid and the cabin floor. The Voyager line starts at 38\u2019 up to 50\u2019 and fills the gap between the classic Selene American trawlers<\/a> and the Selene Artemis<\/a>\u00a0 fast yachts.<\/p>\n

A\u00a0 yacht superstructure with a 360\u00b0 view<\/h4>\n

From the early days of the Selene Voyager Sedan project, Howard Chen wanted to create an elegant family coastal cruiser. A\u00a0 requirement was a range of no less than 1,000 nautical miles. And a Mediterranean or Floridian flair was a must. The yacht offers a bright open plan layout, two comfortable cabins, and a large sheltered cockpit with protected side decks. The extra-wide flying bridge has more space for a tender, loungers, and an outdoor kitchen than any other 42\u2019 yacht!<\/p>\n

The Voyager yachts are lighter than their trawler equivalents with the benefits of higher speed, reduced fuel burn and easier haul-out operations.<\/p>\n

Besides that, with the helm and saloon all on the same level the Selene 42 Voyager Sedan is ideal for a 360\u00b0 view from the saloon settee, or galley. Natural continuity flow from the cockpit to the helm facilitates entertainment and socializing\u00a0of a family or\u00a0 friends. This open design increases the perception of on board volume. A hi-lo saloon table, or a sliding couch to port instead of the two armchairs,\u00a0 becomes an extra berth for two.<\/p>\n

Howard Chen has spent more time designing the Selene 42 Voyager Sedan<\/a> than any other Selene yacht! The hull design was a cooperation between the Selene Design Studio and famous navigator Ted Hood who won the America’s Cup in 1974, skippering the yacht \u201cCourageous\u201d.<\/p>\n

A luxury coastal explorer<\/h4>\n

Since hull number 1, the Selene R&D department constantly improves the boat layout and systems. Hull #42 has lifting stairs with a gas spring in the companionway. It leads to the engine room through a watertight door. Two escape or maintenance hatches are also available in the saloon floor, but the engine room door will be more practical for the owner\u2019s routine services and inspections.<\/p>\n

Once the superstructure is installed, the carpenters start building the interior. It’s a very rewarding phase for the owner who receives progress reports and photos every week! It takes nine months only to build a Selene 42 Voyager Sedan<\/a>.<\/p>\n
