Report on the 2026 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show
The 2026 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show (SCIBS), held from May 20 to May 23, showcased the latest innovations in the marine industry, attracting boating enthusiasts, industry professionals, and potential buyers from around the globe.
Located in the picturesque Sanctuary Cove on Queensland’s Gold Coast, this annual event is Australia’s largest and best boat show.
Over 40,000 people attended SCIBS, for a show that featured an impressive lineup of over 300 exhibitors, including luxury yacht manufacturers, marine equipment suppliers, and service providers.
Selene Yachts once again had a major presence at SCIBS. The Selene Australia Team were joined by Candy and Jenny from the Shipyard, along with our Australian Partners, GLI Yachts for what proved to be an outstanding show.
In the last 2 years Selene Motor Yachts have gone from being relatively unknown in Australia to being recognised as a high quality, highly capable, ocean-going luxury motor yacht.
The 71 Percent YouTube channel with Nathan and Lindsey has been one of the factors that has driven this awareness in Australia and across the world. Almost every visitor to the Selene exhibit told us they were following Nathan and Lindsey through their 71 Percent YouTube channel.
With over 110,000 subscribers their reach is impressive. Viewers are seeing Nathan and Lindsey cruise from Gold Coast to the U.S.A. and demonstrate how a Selene (even a smaller model) can safely and comfortably undergo long passages.
Viewers are also seeing how easily a couple can cruise locally or on longer passages aboard a Selene and at the same time seeing what amazing locations and adventures can be enjoyed.
The many other videos and social media posts from Selene Australia, GLI Yachts, Selene Americas, and others have also raised the awareness, knowledge and excitement about these beautiful ocean-going motor yachts.
We had a new 66 Classic Explorer (Moon Shadow) on display had many people inspect the boat. The feedback as people viewed the 66 Classic Explorer was very positive, with everyone who saw this motor yacht commenting on the build quality, exceptional finish, and craftsmanship. The pride and passion that Terry, Darryl, Candy, Jenny, and our partners at GLI Yachts have for these stunning motor yachts was clear during all the discussions and tours. We are grateful to Candy and Jenny for joining us. Candy and Jenny add so much value to the customer discussions.
There were many other activities during the show. Candy and Darryl joined Brendan from GLI Yachts for a podcast that covered a range of topics including the new Shipyard, the build experience, and what it’s like to cruise on a Selene in Australia.
This podcast will be available shortly. We also had more walk throughs of the 66 Classic Explorer by YouTubers who will also help promote Selenes.
Several dinners took place including an event on board the Moon Shadow for local Selene owners.
Overall, the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show was a great success. Most visitors have been following Selenes and know about Howard and his teams focus on building high quality and highly capable ocean-going motor yachts. We look forward to working with clients to build their dream motor yacht so they can start exploring Australia’s spectacular coastline and the world.
