Selene Yachts Shines at Cannes Boat Show 2026
Selene 6421 Ocean Explorer — Rapsodie was shining at the Cannes Boat Show this year, and it was also the first time a Selene 64 Ocean Explorer made its debut in Europe. Candy, the project manager of Rapsodie, and Jenny, represented the Selene shipyard to attend the boat show. Selene’s European dealers also converged at the show, joining forces to make a strong team.
Selene 64 Ocean Explorer marks a bold new chapter in Selene’s design evolution. Conceived as a collaboration between Selene founder Howard Chen and renowned Dutch designer Guido de Groot, the Selene 64 OE builds upon the proven hull of the Selene 62 Classic Explorer, while receiving a comprehensive transformation in both superstructure and interior design.
Rapsodie is engineered for those who refuse to compromise between comfort and capability. She comes equipped with a comprehensive redundancy package, including:
- Twin John Deere 4045AFM85 180hp engines
- Twin Onan generators
- Sidepower hydraulic thrusters and stabilizer
- Webasto chilled-water air conditioning system
The journey to Cannes was itself a testament to Rapsodie’s ocean-crossing credentials. She completed a 1,200 nautical mile passage from Greece to Cannes. The owner can maintain a cool and comfortable environment through the night using batteries to run the stabilizer (with AC motor) and air conditioning without running the generators, a feature that sets a new standard for silent, energy-efficient cruising.
Following the Cannes show, Rapsodie set sail once again, covering 940 nautical miles from Cannes to Malta where she paused for just a few hours to refuel and enjoy a quick lunch before continuing east. She is now en route back to Greece, where she will join forces with Selene 4946 to make a joint appearance at the Greek Boat Show in the middle of October. We look forward to welcoming friends old and new — and to another strong showing on the water.
